I am not saying to not listen to anyone, but be weary of the source of the advice. If you struggle with losing weight and keeping it off, you aren't going to ask someone for advice who has never struggled with weight. Sure they can give good advice, but they don't know exactly what you are up against. Seeking out someone who has had the same problems as you have would be a better source.
